[Solved] No Internet With Valid IP Address

At times we face connectivity problem with internet and even if we have a valid IP address (Internet Protocol address) we face trouble with it. There are some simple steps which you can do it by yourself even if you have no knowledge about the internet or computer.

How to check IP address?

  • First click on start
  • Then click on Run and type cmd and press ok. You will see black console which is called command prompt.
  • Now to open command prompt for Window Vista or Window 7 Operating System, you can directly type cmd in search bar of Start then right click on cmd and click on 'Run as administrator'
  • Now type 'ipconfig' in that black console (Command prompt) to check your IP address (type without the single quote)

  • If you see IPv4 address as 192.X.X.X then follow these steps

    •          Turn of the PC & the modem.
    •           Unplug the power cable from the PC & the modem.
    •           Press the reset button on the modem for 30 seconds.
    •           Hold down the power button on the pc without the power cable attached for 30 seconds.
    •           Turn on the modem; wait for the lights to be solid.
    •          Once the lights are solid turn on the pc.
    •          Check the IP address again.
    •          Try opening the IE and browse the internet.
    •          If you are unable to connect to the internet then turn off firewall and antivirus software.
    •          Restart your PC in safe mode with networking, to do that or to get to this option press & hold F8    key while your computer is booting and it will be better if you keep hitting or tapping the F8 key on your keyboard right from the time you see first screen while booting. When this is done you will see ‘Windows Advanced option menu screen’ over there using the down arrow button you can select safe mode with networking option. After selecting press enter.
    •          Once you are into the safe mode with networking try connecting to the internet using IE
    •          And reset IE from there. To reset IE, open IE browser, to the top right you will see option ‘Tools’ select that and click on the very last option that say ‘Internet Option’ and choose the last tab that is ‘Advanced tab’ and down below you will see ‘Reset’ button. Click on it as this will be resetting your Internet setting. Once it is done close the browser and restart it again to see you able to connect to the internet.
    • Then restart your window to normal mode, if you are able to connect to the internet using the safe mode. Restart the way you do to restart your computer.
If you are still not able to connect to the internet then contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider. Hope this helps you out.
